The delegation of Turkmenistan takes part in the 116th session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration

The 116th session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) began on December 8, 2025, in Geneva.

During the session, current issues of international migration are being discussed, including the interconnection between migration and development, the strategic directions of the Organization’s activities, as well as statements delivered by member states.

The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service Dovran Bayramov, is participating in the session.

In his speech, Dovran Bayramov outlined Turkmenistan's position on key migration policy issues, emphasizing the need for coordinated international cooperation and a comprehensive approach to managing migration processes. He noted the importance of integrating global frameworks, including the 2030 Agenda and the Global Compacts for Migration and Refugees, into national development strategies.

Furthermore, the efforts of Turkmenistan aimed at modernizing the migration system, simplifying legal migration channels, improving the quality of entry and exit procedures, and ensuring equal social and labor rights for migrants were presented.
