The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Iraq held a telephone conversation

On 12 November 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Fuad Mohammed Hussein.

During the conversation, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres.

The diplomats confirmed their mutual interest in continuing close cooperation between the two states within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN.

They also discussed issues related to the organization of the International Forum for Peace and Trust, which will be held in Ashgabat on December 12 and will be dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, and the International Day of Neutrality.
