N.ANDALIB MUSIC AND DRAMA THEATER MAKES STAGE ADAPTATION OF CHINGIZ AITMATOV’S NOVELLA

The Nurmuhammed Andalib Dashoguz Music and Drama Theater is making a stage adaptation of ‘Mother Earth’, one of the novellas by outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov. It is directed by Guvanch Baimedov.

The new production tells the story of a Kyrgyz woman, Tolgonai, and her tragic life. The heroine witnesses the wartime horrors and hardships, and goes through the grief of losing her beloved husband and sons... True to Aitmatov’s distinctive epic style, the stage work is the portrayal of true patriotism, motherly love, great fortitude, strength of character, and family values. The role of Tolgonai is played by Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Arazgul Jambylova; other roles are performed by leading actors.

The theater also plans to put on a children’s performance titled ‘Bezzat’ (‘The Mischievous Child’) based on Turkmen fairy tales and directed by Azimberdi Kakaev.
