INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN CULTURAL HUMAN RIGHTS IN AGENDA OF ONLINE MEETING

Online seminar, which was held with participation of representatives of National Parliament, number of ministries and departments of the country, Academy of Science of Turkmenistan, Institute of State, Law, administration of Ashgabat and office of Ombudsman, was dedicated to cultural human rights.

During webinar, which was organized by the office of the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights , the participants were introduced with international legal foundations of promotion and protection of cultural human rights, activity of relative organizations of the United Nations including the Committee for economic, social and cultural rights as well as Special Rapporteur on cultural rights.

It was highlighted that the Constitution of Turkmenistan and dozens of existing laws guarantee the right of every citizen of the country for participation in cultural life, freedom of art, scientific and technical creativity, access to cultural values.

Having joined fundamental international legal documents including Universal Declaration on Human Rights and International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Turkmenistan strictly follows undertaken obligations.

At the same time, our country works closely in this direction with competent organizations, expands interstate humanitarian relations and makes all conditions for realization of cultural rights of representatives of other nationalities living in Turkmenistan.
