A ROUND TABLE WAS HELD BETWEEN IMO MFA OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE DIPLOMATIC INSTITUTE OF SAUDI ARABIA
On November 30, 2020, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, in the format of a videoconference, a round table was held between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The event was attended by the leadership and students of two universities, as well as Ambassadors of the two countries.
At the beginning of the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia made a speech, who noted the great role of high-level visits in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. In turn, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan Khalid bin Al-Sahli noted the importance of the policy of positive Neutrality of Turkmenistan and congratulated the entire Turkmen people on this significant date.
The rector of the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted in his speech that the Turkmen side attaches great importance to cooperation with the countries of the Arab world.
The Director of the Center for the Study of Asian Countries of the Institute for Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ali-Al-Karni also made a speech, which congratulated the Turkmen people on the anniversary of Neutrality and expressed confidence in further cooperation between the two universities.
Further, the event continued in three directions: "Bilateral relations and regional cooperation", "Economic cooperation" and "Cooperation in the field of culture", during which the parties exchanged views on the achievements and further cooperation in various fields between the two countries, and also told about the history of interstate relations.
During the meeting, the Turkmen side expressed interest in organizing Arabic language courses in Turkmenistan. During the discussion of cultural cooperation, the parties proposed to organize the interaction of women's handicrafts. Also, the Saudi side expressed its readiness for cooperation in the field of tourism.
