INTERNATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT WAS HELD IN GEORGIA
On April 17, 2021, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia in cooperation with the “Alliance for the Development of Amateur and Corporate Sports of Georgia” held an International Golf Tournament. The Tournament was dedicated to the month of mass sports activities and socio-cultural events, annually held in Turkmenistan, as well as to the 30th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan and proclamation of 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Representatives of diplomatic missions, accredited in Georgia, business community of Georgia, as well as amateur athletes from different countries took part in this sports event. Local media covered the tournament.
Before the start of the tournament, the participants noted that golf is very popular in Turkmenistan, and it is the great merit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on whose initiative a golf club was opened in Turkmenistan.
It was also stressed that the development of sports of the highest achievements and mass physical culture movement in Turkmenistan, as well as the implementation of comprehensive measures to popularize the healthy lifestyle is in the focus of attention of President of Turkmenistan.
At the end of the tournament, there was the awarding ceremony.
