RICE HARVESTING GOES ON
An organized rice harvesting goes on at high rates in the north of Turkmenistan. 120 state-of-the-art high capacity combines and about hundred units of vehicles for grain transportation were used for an important campaign. This year in Dashoguz velayat the rice bays occupied as usually eight thousand one hundred hectares, from which the agricultural workers are planning to gather thirty-five thousand ton of the “pearl” grain. A heavy crop of the quality varieties «Müňbaşy», «Nöküs-2», «Аlenga» and «Bereketli» was grown, which are valued in the region for their excellent taste properties, high crop yield, disease-resistance. The main crop producers are the rice growers of two specialized farms of S.Turkmenbashi etrap, where in the immediate vicinity of the rice area of region is situated the high-tech enterprise on rice milling, capable to deliver to the consumers of the country up to 30 thousand ton per year of the quality product meeting the world standards and prepare the required seed grain for the agricultural producers.
The grain-growing branch plays an important role in the economy of Dashoguz velayat and is one of the developed branches of its agriculture. The region produces a large value of wheat, barley, mung bean, sesame, kidney bean and other cereal and grain legume crops. As a result of the created due to the state investments sufficient fleet of the required machinery and construction of the specialized facilities on storage and processing of the grown harvest, a full cycle of production, beginning from preparing of seed grain till the production of the final product is successfully used in this field. Further development of grain growing is planned here based on the efficient use of the land and water resources, implementation of the advanced scientific achievements and methods of economic management.
