TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN FOR THE BENEFIT OF ENVIRONMENTAL WELL-BEING

The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), in cooperation with “Karakumderyasuvkhojhalyk” of the State Committee for Water Resources of Turkmenistan,, within the framework of the signed Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between CAREC and the State Committee for Water Resources of Turkmenistan, has held a tree planting campaign along the Karakum River.

More than 100 trees , including mulberry, albizia, maple, melia azedarach, paulownia, ash tree, sophora and other types of trees were planted.

The campaign is aimed at planting of trees in the Karakum River coastline, fixing the river’s bank and improving the environment in general.

Environmental protection, respect for nature, preservation of its beauty and wealth for future generations are priority of the state policy, consistently implemented by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. All large-scale transformations to ensure dynamic economic growth and modernization of the social sphere are closely related to the environmental issue as an indispensable condition for a prosperous life of people in all respects.
