SUCCESSFUL SPRING PLANTING OF ONIONS

In the Dashoguz velayat, spring planting of onions was successfully completed in the first half of March. As a result of the work carried out at a high organizational level, the culture was placed on an area more than twice as large as last year within a timeframe acceptable for the northern region of the country. Onion varieties of various breeding were used as planting material, well adapted for growing in local climatic conditions and on soils inherent in the region, the developed root system of which makes it possible to be resistant to various weather conditions. All of them are distinguished by a growing season acceptable for these places, early ripening and high yields, resistance to various diseases and are intended for long-term storage and transportation.

The largest areas for spring planting of onions were allocated in the etraps named after Gurbansoltan-edzhe and named after S.A. Niyazov, where the culture is located on five hundred and fifty (550) and four hundred and ninety (490) hectares, respectively. It should be noted that in accordance with the tasks of strengthening food abundance in our country and fully meeting the needs of the population in a variety of high-quality agricultural products, including vegetables, onion production this year has also increased significantly in other etraps of the Dashoguz velayat. At the same time, its high yield is planned to be achieved through the most efficient use of local water and land resources and a powerful fleet of specialized agricultural equipment, timely and high-quality implementation of all necessary agrotechnical measures.

In the Dashoguz velayat, the mass production of onions successfully combines advanced modern technologies with rich agricultural experience in the cultivation of crops. Autumn onion planting is also held here every year, and in recent years, the cultivation of winter onions has also been successfully practiced here. Such a strategy provides year-round stable supply of the consumer market with important products.
