THE EMBASSY OF TURKMENISTAN IN FRANCE HELD AN EVENT IN HONOR OF NOVRUZ

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in France, together with the embassies and UNESCO offices of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, held a joint cultural event in honor of Novruz holiday.

The event, which was organized at UNESCO Headquarters, was attended by UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, employees of various ministries and departments of France, representatives of international organizations, the media, as well as the diplomatic corps accredited to UNESCO and in Paris.

The guests of the event were able to get acquainted with the exhibition of folk art of the countries represented, taste the dishes of national cuisine, and also enjoy a rich concert program.

At the exhibition stand of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan were demonstrated handmade carpets, national costumes, jewelry, various souvenirs, books of Arkadag.

Nowruz was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016. as a joint multinational nomination of 12 countries (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan).
