TURKMENISTAN WRESTLERS WON 8 MEDALS OF THE ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN WRESTLING ALYSH CLASSIC STYLE

Eight medals of various denominations were won by Turkmen athletes at the Asian Alysh Wrestling Championship held in Osh (Kyrgyzstan). They achieved this success on the first day of the competition, in which 12 sets of awards were played among men and women in the classic style of national Kyrgyz wrestling.
Gold medals in our team were won by a student of the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, Palvan Gurbangeldiyev (weight category up to 100 kg) and students of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Nurmuhammet Baydogdyyev (over 100 kg) and Jemal Ovlyakuliyeva (up to 70 kg).
Silver medals were awarded to a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management Iskander Ashyrov (up to 70 kg), a student of a sports university Agayusup Garayev (up to 80 kg) and a soldier Arslan Hojamberdiyev (up to 90 kg). And the bronze medalists were students of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Dayanch Guvanjov (up to 60 kg) and Naziya Jorayeva among women (up to 70 kg).
In the team standings among men, the national team of Turkmenistan took second place.
In total, more than 300 athletes from 14 countries - Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Philippines and Japan - participate in the Asian Alysh Wrestling Championship.
The tournament is one of the selection stages for the IV World Nomad Games, which will be held in September 2022 in the Turkish city of Iznik.
