THE WOMEN'S 3X3 BASKETBALL TEAM OF TURKMENISTAN MADE IT TO THE FINAL TOURNAMENT OF THE ASIAN CUP

The women's 3x3 basketball team of Turkmenistan made it to the final of the Asian Cup, which will be held in Singapore from 8 to 10 July. The wards of Alexander Pashkov achieved this success by winning the qualifying tournament in the same place in group "E" with the participation of the teams of Guam, Kazakhstan and Papua New Guinea.

In the opening match, the Turkmen basketball players defeated the Guam team - 21:14, then defeated the Kazakhstan national team - 21:10, and in the last game they defeated the rivals from Papua New Guinea - 21:11.

The national team of Turkmenistan at the Asian Cup is represented by: Dilfuza Azizova, Zybagozel Hydyrova, Leyla Khalilova and Aina Gokova.

29-year-old team leader Aina Gokova, whose height is 1 meter 90 centimeters, scored 31 points in three games, 14 of them against the Guam team. 20 points - on account of Leyla Khalilova.

The final tournament of the Asian Cup will feature 12 teams divided into 4 groups. The women's team of Turkmenistan got into group "D", where they will play with the teams of Taiwan and Sri Lanka.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.

3x3 basketballs is a type of basketball played three on three with one backboard and a half-court formation. According to a study by the ESSEC Business School commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. A 3x3 basketball game lasts 10 minutes of pure time or ends after one of the teams’ scores 21 points.
