GROWING A GOOD HARVEST

A good harvest of potatoes has ripened in the north of Turkmenistan. This year, it was planted on 8,800 hectares in the Dashoguz velayat, which is much more than last year. Most of the plantations are located on the lands of the etraps named after Gurbansoltan-edzhe and named after S.A. Niyazov, whose farmers are the main producers of crops in the region. Now the crop is being harvested here. Potato growers of Gurbansoltan-edzhe etraps, Akdepe and Boldumsaz etraps are at the forefront of the suffering, harvesting is gaining momentum every day in other etraps.

This year, the agrarians of the Dashoguz velayat are faced with the important task of bringing the volume of the harvested crop to 123,200 tons for the first time. To do this, they need to get at least 140 centners of tubers from each hectare. It seems that local farmers can cope with the targets, especially since the region has accumulated sufficient experience in successfully cultivating high-yielding and well-tolerating mechanized harvesting mid-early and early varieties of Dutch selection in local soil and climatic conditions, which, moreover, are unpretentious in care and are less susceptible to disease.

Therefore, here now they are paying special attention to the organization of harvesting work, the coordinated interaction of all the links involved in them. Along with daikhan associations, private business structures also contribute to the production of potatoes in the Dashoguz velayat, which receive versatile and effective support from the state.
